I have a windows 2003 cluster with MSMQ resource installed, when i try
to bring the resource back online it fails. I look at the event
viewer and it keeps telling me that it can not bind to port 1801. I
ran a netstat -a -n and do not see anything using port 1801. I was
hoping someone could help me figure out what I did wrong. I used the
step by step for windows 2003 clustering as well as the doc from
microsoft Deploying Message Queuing (MSMQ) 3.0 in a Server Cluster to
set up this msmq cluster.

thanks in advanced for all the help

Hi

So you are seeing an MSMQ event 2170 the the Application Event log - "failed
to bind to port 1801".
Is there also an MSMQ event 2171 - "failed to bind to UDP port 3527"?

Try setting the MSMQ local instance to run in Manual mode.
I expect it is set to run in Automatic mode.

Cheers
