Hi All

In the control panel's "add or remove Programs", I choose "add a
component" which launches the Windows Components wizard from which I
then pick "Message Queuing" by placing a checkmark in the box to the
left. When I then choose "Next" the next message I get is in a new box
which says "Searching for a domian controller for message queuing
setup".

I then get presented with a small window that says "Setup did not
locate a suitable Domian controller or controller server." "Specify a
Windows XP domain controller, a Windows 2000 domain controller, or an
MSMQ 1.0 PEC or PSC.

Thanks In Advance

Hi

Sounds like you are installing MSMQ on a Windows XP client machine that is
part of a domain.
Setup will try to locate the domain controller for this domain so that it
can create corresponding objects in Active Directory.
Is there any reason why this should not succeed?

If you do not want it to integrate with Active Directory, you should be able
to deselect this option under Message Queuing in the Wizard (although I do
not have a Windows XP machine handy to check).

Cheers

John was correct in his suggestion.
You can deselect Active Directory Integration by clicking the "details"
button once you have selected Message Queuing on the Windows Components
Windows.
This will allow you to access the subcomponents of message queuing. Active
Directory Integration is one of the subcomponents. Simply deselect the
checkbox and click OK. Then proceed with the Message Queuing install.
